Massage Therapy treatment at the clinic

What it is

Massage therapy is the assessment and hands-on treatment of soft tissues — muscle, fascia, tendon and ligament. A Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) uses targeted pressure and movement that may help relieve muscular tension, support circulation and improve comfort during recovery.

Common reasons people seek it

  • Muscular tightness in the neck, shoulders and low back
  • Tension-type headaches
  • Stress and difficulty relaxing
  • Recovery support alongside physiotherapy
  • Pregnancy-related discomfort
  • Repetitive strain from desk or manual work

Your first appointment

  • A short health history and consent discussion.
  • A focused assessment of the areas causing concern.
  • Agreement on pressure, draping and treatment areas before starting.
  • Hands-on treatment, followed by self-care suggestions such as stretching or heat.

Methods that may be used

  • Swedish and therapeutic massage
  • Deep tissue work within your comfort
  • Trigger point and myofascial release
  • Sports and pre/post-event massage
  • Relaxation-focused treatment
  • Stretching and home self-care guidance

Do I have to undress?
Only the area being treated is undraped, and you remain covered by sheets throughout. You choose what you are comfortable with.
